 Our plant-breeding efforts have been directed at creating salt-tolerant seed varieties capable of surviving very high salinity, while at the same time producing very high yields. In university testing, our varieties have yielded as well as or better than the best non-salt tolerant varieties, which means that our varieties can be used to grow alfalfa in subprime soil conditions and yet produce yields that are comparable to alfalfa grown in better soil. Our seed is grown by farmers with whom we have long-standing business relationships, many of which are second and third generation growers for us.
